Therefore, while you can certainly try to format the micro sd card on your computer, I do not believe your gps until will be able to read or utilize the Blue hart g2 HD maps which will be on the micro sd card. You can find this on the Garmin website (scroll down and expand the compatible devices list). This could mean that the maps requires a filesystem (the way the micro sd card is formatted) than your GPS unit can read. Therefore, if you have multiple regions, each will need to be renamed as described above and placed on seperate microSD/SD cards.Ok, there are many reasons why a SD card would appear to be corrupt. Keep in mind that only a single region can hold the name gmapsupp. These files can be found inside the Garmin folder on the root directory of the microSD/SD card. To make the maps viewable in HomePort, the three files on the card will need to be renamed to gmapsupp while keeping the existing extensions. Each region will have different file names. This is because handheld devices are able to use multiple regions of mapping on one microSD/SD card. ![]() An example would be, if the US g2 region was downloaded the files would be named: If the BlueChart g2 card is being downloaded for a handheld device like the Oregon or Colorado series, the downloaded files will be named according to the region that was purchased. If HomePort is not displaying the maps from a downloaded BlueChart g2 card, the issue may be the naming convention of the mapping files on the card. Garmin also have an older product called MapSource which allows you to create and transfer waypoints but that was about all it was good for with marine chart. Copies can be used on a PC with Garmins Homeport software. QuoteHomePort is a program that is designed to view downloaded or preprogrammed cards of BlueChart g2 and BlueChart g2 Vision. New BlueChart ® g3 and BlueChart g3 Vision marine charts for Europe, the U.S. I can’t imagine why anyone with a Garmin plotter, a Windows PC, and a bit of ability to use both wouldn’t find Garmin Homeport more than worth the 30 charge.
